Last School Year

Woah. I really cannot believe it! My last year! Being a senior will be a hastle and I am very much looking forward to it. It makes me remember things from previous years. Like when Mara and me would sit in front of the classroom during lunch in 7th grade. Or when we would stay and play board games with other students during lunch. It all comes back to me like they had all been in the back of my brain. Being in this school has been one heck of a ride. I have cried, laughed been angry, all of it. Many people think of these things as “cringe” but I did genuinely enjoy every second of it until now. This had to be my favorite class with one of my favorite teachers! Overall, I think I really can call this school my second home. I wish I could write more, a lot more, but my brain feels fried right now!

Reading and Writing – Jimmy V

Someone may say the words “Don’t Give Up” when talking about a goal, any goal. Whether it be going to college or even creating something of some kind. In this particular speech, Valvano uses it to talk about his own experiences. He uses many jokes and punchlines to deliver his speech in a way his audience will be interested and pay attention. He talks about his battle with cancer, making the speech more personal, giving his own insight and experience. It does motivate me because now I know I’m not the only one!
